Immersive Reader In an inclusive classroom, Immersive Reader supports many types of students, including those who have: • Dyslexia • Visual and hearing impairments • Special physical needs • Specific learning disabilities • Spectrum disorders • ELL needs • Enrichment or acceleration needs
Immersive Reader • Log in to your account at Office.com and open a Word Online document. • Select the View tab in Word Online to find Immersive Reader.
Immersive Reader Click on the following icons to explore the Immersive Reader features: Text Preferences: Change the text size, spacing, font, and themes to increase word recognition and decoding skills. Grammar Options: Turn on Syllables and Parts of Speech to increase reading comprehension. Reading Preferences: Turn on Line Focus and Picture Dictionaryto eliminate visual distractions and help build vocabulary.

Immersive Reader 1. Open Office Lens on your mobile device and take a picture of a handout. 2. Tap the orange check in the lower right corner. 3. Tap Immersive Reader under the Share To section. 4. Become familiar with the features.

Explore: Dictate • Log in at Office.com and open a document using Word Online. • Select the Dictate button in the Home tab. • Wait for the red record button to appear, then start talking. Dictate will type what you speak. • Speak clearly at a natural rate of speed. • Say punctuation aloud or let Dictate fill it in by listening for your pauses. • Select the red record button again when you’re finished writing with your voice or speak “Stop dictation”.
