Should I Skip Breakfast Or Not? In yesterday’s post on Dr. Michael Klaper’s YouTube video the simple thanks to Switch to a Plant Based Diet, I focused on his lunch recommendations. He also devoted time to breakfast. But, despite what we’ve been taught about breakfast being “the most significant meal of the day,” Dr. Klaper calls it “optional” for anyone not trying to understand weight. Why? Because, he says, during our nightly sleep our bodies burn the fat they’ve stored for fuel. If we aren’t hungry on awakening, they’re still burning it. So, until you’re hungry, he suggests it’s perfectly fine to skip breakfast. In Dr. Klaper’s words, “If you’re trying to scale back , just drink water until noon.”• This sounds logical enough, but does the research back it up? Last week, I heard a podcast during which Dr. Michael Greger presented just the opposite view!
