Concept maps for Research • A search of the literature dealing with grey mold in strawberries and flowers led to the construction of a concept map summarizing the research. • There were six possible relationships for which the literature was absent of inconclusive. • This led to Christi Palmer’s PhD thesis experiments to characterize these relationships as shown in the next figure. Research program dealing with plant roots • Professor Zobel at Cornell University was seeking a better way to coordinate work of his research team. • His experience in using concept maps in his classes suggested they could be useful for research team. • Science Education graduate Student Richard Iuli worked with the team to develop a comprehensive concept map for the team.
