  9. Guideline #1 • When you enter the classroom, immediately gather the materials you will need for the day. Be in your assigned seat and working on the Literacy Link as soon as you have what you need.

  10. “Literacy Link”aka Do Now or Jump Start • The Literacy Link will either be on the blackboard or the overhead. • As soon as you walk in, please take the first few minutes to complete the assignment in your classwork section in your notebook. • Please write the date at the top of each page of your notebook.

  11. Guideline #2 • Bring ALL your books and materials to class AND take them with you when you leave (except the materials that DO NOT leave the classroom – more on that later!).

  12. Guideline #3 • Follow directions the FIRST time they are given.

  13. Guideline #4 • Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity! Celebrate each other’s differences and unique qualities.

  14. Guideline #5 • Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the SGS and Franklin Township Schools student handbook.

  15. Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone.” That means that there will be no whining for ANY reason. Everything I do is in your best interest, so please respect the “No Whining Zone” this year!

  16. Following Guidelines will result in… • Verbal acknowledgement • A stress-free learning environment • A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere. • Stars!

Classroom Discussions • PLEASE participate • I want to hear what you have to say…at an appropriate time of course  • Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion • Raise your hand when you are ready to participate • If you have a question I was unable to answer in class, write it down and ask when we are done with the lesson or discussions.

  28. Moving around the room • You must ask permission. • Do not ask to leave during note-taking or instruction to the whole class, unless it is an emergency. • For a scheduled checkout: please let me know in the beginning of class, quietly raise your hand to get my attention, pack up quietly and leave. • Please make sure you retrieve any work you may have missed.

  29. Class Dismissal • The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. • Do no start packing up until you have been told to do so. • I will officially dismiss you with “Have a nice day!” or something else pleasant!

  30. Always remember • I will come prepared to teach you each day, if you come prepared to learn. • I will teach with enthusiasm and creativity to the best of my ability, if you always try your best. • I will respect you for the unique person you are, if you respect me in return. • I will provide a safe and orderly classroom environment, and expect you to follow guidelines and procedures. • I will help you REACH your best, YOU, if YOU believe you can achieve!
