  3. John A. Lomax updated the song to the current version in 1910 In 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt claimed it to be his favorite song Officially adopted as the state song of Kansas on June 30, 1947 Since creation, the song has been used in countless movies and shows, being sung by everyone from Willie Nelson to Porky Pig. History
