  2. Presentation Objectives • To introduce the DRTF initiative to the Coral Reef Elementary School PTA • Present the goals for the redevelopment effort • Discuss the redevelopment initiative • Present the conceptual ideas for a future Downtown Palmetto Bay

  3. What is the DRTF? • Abbrev. for Downtown Redevelopment Task Force which was formed by the Village Manager in May 2013 • Composed of 41 stakeholders; primarily Palmetto Bay residents and professionals with experience on downtown planning, design and development • Council approved the first budget allocation on October 1, 2013; the first expenditure was approved on January 23, 2014

  4. DRTF Vision To redevelop Palmetto Bay’s downtown district into a vibrant and inviting work-live-play community.

  5. Why are we doing this? Quiz Time! How many of you know where downtown Palmetto Bay is? How many of you know where downtown South Miami is? How many of you have visited downtown Palmetto Bay at least once in the past 3 months? How many have visited downtown South Miami at least once in the past 3 months? How many of you would find it convenient to have nearby shopping, dining and entertainment?
