Why are we not there yet? Serious gaps exist in the development of the Human Capital Pioneering Research, PG Outcome & Commercialisation Potential Moving idea to The- Market-Place • Weak internal ecosystem for innovation • Low number of IPs and commercialization efforts • Insufficient pre-commercialization grants • Limited entrepreneurial skills and business know-how • Limited communication between academia and industry • Absence of full-fledged incubator facilities Supply of Innovative Human Capital • Need 50 RSE per 10,000 workforce to be a developed nation. • Current status: 21 RSE per 10,000 workforce • Insufficient number of postgraduates • Brain drain due to weak strategies to retain talent Quality of Innovative Human Capital • Curriculum lacks elements of creativity & innovation • Limited pioneer mindset capability

PERMOHONAN FRGS • PermohonanIndividuterbahagikepadadua (2) Modiaitu : • Single-disciplinaryproject • permohonanprojekpenyelidikanmelibatkan satu (1) bidangpenyelidikan. • silingperuntukanadalah RM150,000.00 sepanjangtempohpenyelidikan. • Trans-disciplinaryproject • permohonanprojekpenyelidikanmelibatkansekurang-kurangnyatiga (3) bidangpenyelidikan(trans-disciplinary) melangkauijabatan / fakulti dari institusiyang sama. • sasaranhasilpenyelidikanyang sama. • silingperuntukanadalah RM450,000.00 sepanjangtempohpenyelidikan.

Research Background • Elaboration of title • Clarity of problem statement and research question /hypothesis/ theoretical framework (if applicable) • Cited most recent (last 5 years) related references • In line with government policy, national agenda and global aspiration (can help alleviate problems at local, national or world level)
Objectives & Methods • Objectives • Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and within Time-frame (SMART) • Relate to problem statement / research question • Methods • Clear and detailed description of methodology (may consist of field work, sampling techniques, interview session, analysis ; lab work of different phases, experimental protocol, statistical analysis) • Able to achieve research objectives • Include research design, flow chart, Gantt chart, activities and milestones
