ASTRA Objectives (general) • Increase the availability of people who are trained to use, produce and manage statistics by: • 1. Integrating training within capacity building actions as part of medium-term statistics strategies, based on NSDSs • 2. Targeting proposals for statistical training • 3. Identifying how training institutes can sustainably meet the demand for statistics-related training
What ASTRA can do • ASTRA can analyse demand for statistics training to facilitate development of national training plans that make best use of training / human resources budget. • ASTRA can analyse demand for statistics training providers to enable matching demand with supply. • ASTRA’s outputs are consistent reports. • Hence, ASTRA is useful for preparing a NSDS implementation plan. • Future: putting ASTRA on the Eurostat website for free and presenting the tools in countries & regional organisations.
