  2. Principle #1:There is Absolute Truth • “…For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." (John 18:37)

  3. Principle #1:There is Absolute Truth • (John 17:17) "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (NKJV)

  4. Principle #2:God intended that men could discover and understand truth. • (Ephesians 4:3-5) • endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; (NKJV)

  5. Principle #2:God intended that men could discover and understand truth. • (Ephesians 5:17) • Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (NKJV)

  6. Principle #2:God intended that men could discover and understand truth. • (1 Timothy 2:4) • who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (NKJV)

  8. Principle #3:Attitude is KEY! Why don’t some accept the truth? • (2 Timothy 3:7-8) • always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; (NKJV) Some men’s minds are corrupt.

(2 Thessalonians 2:10-11) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (NKJV) Some men do not want the truth.

Why don’t some accept the truth? • “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…”(Phil. 2:12) • “…searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” (Ac. 17:11) • “The entirety of Your word is truth…” (Psa. 119:160) Some men are too hasty to make a decision.

  11. Principle #3:Attitude is KEY! Why don’t some accept the truth? • (Proverbs 18:13) • He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him. (NKJV) Some men are too hasty to make a decision.

  12. Principle #3:Attitude is KEY! Why don’t some accept the truth? • (John 7:17) • "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. (NKJV) Some simply do not have the right attitude.

  13. Principle #3:Attitude is KEY! Why don’t some accept the truth? • (Luke 8:11-15) • "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. "Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. "But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. "Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. "But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. (NKJV) Some simply do not have the right attitude.

Why don’t some accept the truth? • (Mark 7:5-13) Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?" He answered and said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' "For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men--the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you… Some prefer tradition over the word.

"For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.' "But you say, 'If a man says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban"-' (that is, a gift to God), "then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother, "making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do." (NKJV) Some prefer tradition over the word.
