History • Hydrogen was found by Theophrastus Paracelsus found hydrogen in the first half of the 1500’s. the origin is Greek. It got its symbol from the first letter of its name.

Hydrogen in history • The Hindenburg crash of may 6, 1937. the Hindenburg which caught fire was filled with hydrogen. It caught fire and went down in seconds. This is one reason they now use helium in blimps.
