  2. What is Manifest Destiny? • In the 1800s it was believed that it was God’s Will for the United States to expand to the Pacific Ocean

  3. Problems with Manifest Destiny • What does the United States do with the Native Americans living in the West?

  4. Territorial Problems • The United State does not have land rights in the West. • The U.S. only has territory to the Rocky Mountains from the Louisiana Purchase. • Why do Lewis and Clark go to the Pacific Ocean? • Pop quiz: Who’s that guy?
