  2. THE BRAZIL-U.S. BUSINESS COUNCIL • Oldest and largest bilateral private sector organization between Brazil and the United States • Over 100 of the top U.S. companies with businesses and investments in Brazil • Composed of two Sections • U.S. Section (BUSBC) chaired by Cargill, housed at the U.S. Chamber • Brazil Section (CEBEU) chaired by Embraer, housed at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). • Our Mission: To deepen the Brazil-U.S. economic and commercial partnership • Pro-free enterprise • Pro-free markets • Pro-free trade

  3. The Role of the United States in the Scientific Mobility Program • GOB expects the United States to be a key partner in the program. • The unofficial count goal is that half of the scholarship “should” go to Brazilian students studying in the United States. • USG has also an incentive to promote the program and its “100,000 Strong in the Americas.” • U.S. schools are very interested in hosting Brazilian students. • The students will likely be U.S. future “Ambassadors” in Brazil.

  4. THE ROLE OF THE BUSBC • Recognizing the significance of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program to promote the U.S. Brazil relationship, the BUSBC works: • In the United States • with U.S. member companies and partners to facilitate the implementation of the program • to disseminate the program within the U.S. private sector • to assist U.S. member companies hosting students for internships • In Brazil (in conjunction with the Brazil Section of the BUSBC and Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry - CNI) • to publicize BUSBC members’ support for the program within the Brazilian government • with CNI to promote the program based on our Protocol of Intentions
