  2. A Geographers view of Place • Geography is the study Of land as well as water, plants, animals, and people. • Geographers study the physical and human Characteristics of places. • Geographers study how people interact with their natural surroundings, or their environment.

  3. Physical Characteristics Human Characteristics • weather and temperature • land and soil • plant life • animal life • languages • religions • where people settle • how people get from place to place • how money is exchanged • government

  4. Landforms Landforms are individual features of the land, such as mountains and valleys

  5. Landform- examples • Mountains Rivers Oceans • Plains Delta Valley

  6. Regions • Geographers break the earth down into smaller areas to get a better understanding of the particular traits in that specific part of the world. • These regions have similar physical and human(Cultural) characteristics.
