For every form of online interaction that people use, there are both pros and cons to them.
E-mail • Cons or E-mail • It is impersonal • E-mail is not always secure (hacking etc...) • -E-mail cant show as much emotion as a phone call could (same with texting and letters) • -E-mail is really easy to get caught up in... E mail could become too much of a habit and that could be a bad thing. • -E-mail is not as private as a letter would be. • -You have to learn how to use the e-mail program which could take time. • -You must have access to internet to write and send an e-mail. And internet/Wi-Fi is not always available. • Pros of E-mail • E mail is fast and easy. • E-mail is free to send, (if you already have internet) • E mail messages are stored easily • E-mail is pretty much universal • You can send your message or attached documents when it is convenient for you and the recipient can reply when it is convenient for them, no phone tag.
Cons Of A web Chat/Web conference call • The price of the web chat software can get expensive, the nicer they are the more they will cost. • One of the major disadvantages of web conference call is that detail planning is essential for its success. The people engaged in the conference call need to have high discipline and high level of concentration. For an effective conference call the web cam, microphone and other gadgets need to be in proper position and in good working condition. Failure in any one of the key gadgets can lead to the total failure of conference call. • Pros Of a Web chat/ Web Conference call • You can see the person that you need to talk to face to face when you need to without having to travel to see them. • You can use any type of visual program like PowerPoint to share information with the other people in the room, and everyone will have the feeling that they’re together, sharing information and ideas freely. • In some cases, you can even grant access to a computer. • to everyone, and they can see what happens on it. The more advanced the service, the more actions can be done, such as changing documents and typing from other PC’s connected to the web conference. • . If your company needs people to collaborate on projects, then this can help greatly. • One of the greatest advantages that web conference call has it that concepts can be illustrated in real time using the 'whiteboard.' People can also take questions and give answers, which can be recorded and later used for further interaction.
