Characteristics of nonfiction • Chronology • Linear • Information within a text of nonfiction is fact-based. • Characters and events must conform to what is true. • Plot is not modified by the author’s imagination. • Perspective: the author takes a position on the subject of his work • Types of nonfiction: • Autobiography • Biography • Essay • Speech • Diary • Newspaper articles
