Kindergarten • Both public and private kindergartens offer education activities through: normal programmes (5 hours per day) long-type programmes (10 hours per day) • Pre-primary education is organised by age groups: 3- to 4, 4- to 5, 5- to 6-year-old age groups.
Primary School During the first 5 years (grade 0- grade IV ) the students are monitoredby a class teacher and other specialized teachers for a few disciplines such as Foreign Languages, Physical and Religious Education
Primary School • The children’s activity is evaluated according to a system of qualifiers: • (FB) VeryGood, or Excellent • (B) Good • (S) Satisfactory, meaning (just) passed • (I) Poor, meaning failed
Gymnasium Structured on specialclasseswith intensive courses in Foreign Languages,Science, etc Differentteacher for eachsubject and eachclasshas a teacherasclass master Programcancontainupto 6 hours per day There is notschool uniform or anydress code, but therulesprovidethe basic decency
High School The first 2 yearsare compulsory, the next2 are non-mandatory Each school has its own uniform Each school has at least two principals
Baccalaureate Exam At the end of the upper cycle of education all types ofHighSchoolsshould sit the National BaccalaureateExam (BAC) Similar with the French Baccalaureate BAC includes Romanian Language, Foreign Language and I.T. competences evaluationsand 4-5 writtenexams, over a period of 2 weeks The diploma accompanying this examination (diplomă de bacalaureat) allows pupils to apply to take the entrance examination for higher education
