Dendrochirusbrachypterus (Dwarf Lionfish) • The lionfish is a venomous, salt water fish that is found near reefs and in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. • The lionfish is a carnivore that particularly like to eat smaller fish, shrimp, and krill. • They are characterized by their striped bodies and pectoral fins, which is also used to tell what gender the fish is. • They are seen in a variety of colors and do not have many predators. (Eels, frogfish, and other lionfish)
OpsanusTau (Oyster Toadfish) • A Bottom dwelling, venomous fish which can be mostly found in Chesapeake Bay and Caribbean Sea. • They are omnivores that can grow up to 12 in. long that will eat a huge variety of foods from small fish to squid to shrimp. • They live in secluded areas where they can stay hidden from predators and to surprise prey if they come close enough to them. • They are mostly seen to be a muddy brownish color to blend in with their environment. • To tell the difference between a male female is to take the fish out of the water and see if it will make a grunt noise. If it makes a grunt noise then it is a male.
Live Rock • Micro- and macroscopic marine life that live on and inside it make it live. • Rock is calcium carbonate skeletons of long dead corals or other calcareous organisms.
