  2. Review 14 – 19 from homework 14. Books:A used bookstore sells paperback fiction books in excellent condition for $2.50 and in fair condition for $0.50. The expression 2.50x + 0.50f represents the cost of buying x excellent-condition paperbacks and f fair-condition paperbacks. a. Find the cost of purchasing 5 excellent-condition and 3 fair-conditioned books. 2.50 (5) + 0.50(3) 12.50 + 1.50 = $14.00 The cost of 5 excellent-condition and 3 fair-conditioned books will be $14.00.. Packet Level 2 Question #14packet

  3. 15. It is believed that ¾ of our dreams involve people that we know. The expression ¾d describes the number of dreams that feature people that you know if you have d dreams. • Use the algebraic expression to predict the number of dreams that include people you know out of 28 dreams. ¾d = ¾(28) = Out of 28 dreams, I predict 21 of my dreams will inlcude people I know.

  4. 16. Books:Akira bought one new book for $20 and three used books for $4.95 each. Write and evaluate an expression to find how much money the books costs. 1(20) + 3(4.95) = 20 + 14.85 = $34.85 The books would cost $34.85. Packet Level 2 Question #16

  5. 18. Car Rental: Important Facts: 1. Company charges $36 per day plus $0.50 per mile over 100 miles. 2. She rents the car for 5 days and drives 180 miles. a. Write a numerical expression for how much it will cost her to rent the car. $36(5) + $0.50(80) = b. Evaluate the expression. $180 + $40 = $220 She will pay $220 for the 5 day rental. Packet Level 3 Question #18
