  2. Where did the Alamo take place? • The Alamo took place in San Antonio, TX.

  3. Who won the battle? • Mexico unfortunately won the battle, but Texas won the battle of San Jacinto that you will probably hear about from another student. • People from other states came to Texas and helped Texas fight for freedom. For example, David Crocket is from Tennessee.

  4. David Crocket • David Crocket came from Tennessee to help Texans fight for freedom. • David Crocket named his hunting rifle Old Betsy.

  5. James Bowie • James Bowie invented the famous Bowie knife. • He was born in Logan, Kentucky.

  6. Santa Anna • Santa Anna was the dictator of Mexico and led the Mexican army to destroy the Alamo. • Santa Anna was afraid of water.

  7. Sam Houston • Sam Houston was the general of the Texans. • He spent most of his life with the Cherokee Indians.

  8. Why did the Alamo happen • The battle of the Alamo began because people disagreed with Santa Anna’s beliefs and it started the revolution.
