Who won the battle? • Mexico unfortunately won the battle, but Texas won the battle of San Jacinto that you will probably hear about from another student. • People from other states came to Texas and helped Texas fight for freedom. For example, David Crocket is from Tennessee.

James Bowie • James Bowie invented the famous Bowie knife. • He was born in Logan, Kentucky.
Santa Anna • Santa Anna was the dictator of Mexico and led the Mexican army to destroy the Alamo. • Santa Anna was afraid of water.
