But we can use it to compare more than two things like: • I am taller than my brother and my sister. • Jackson is bigger than Bells and Alamo. • An iPad is better than a laptop and a desktop. We can also use the comparative without stating the other thing if it’s understood such as: • I feel better. (Meaning that it is understood to the person you are talking to than that you fell better than you did before).
Activity for Comparatives • In groups of four, make as many true sentences as you can comparing each other using the following phrases: lives close to school; has big family; young; old; tall; short; has been learning English long; gets up early; goes to bed late Example: Marta lives closer to the school than Juan and Pablo.
