CJK-IMT25-XXX Possible Contribution to 8th Meeting of WP5D~ Proposal on IMT.FUTURE ~ SUGATA, Akinori (ak-sugata@kddi.com)
Background • The input contribution of “Terrestrial IMT Networks Development in the timeframe of years 2012-2020” (Document 5D/ 612) was carried forwarded and be discussed in the 8th meeting at Da Nang. • A text dealing with relatedissues, attached in the WG-GEN chairman’s report (TEMP/324 in the 7th meeting), will also be discussed in the 8th meeting. • The Workshop will be held in the 9th meeting of WP5D in China in order to exchange opinions on visions and market for the next 10 years after year of 2010. • Opinions or views on the future IMT system as beyond IMT-Advanced are requested.
Proposals(1) Proposed steps for consideration of the future IMT network • 1st step : to share common understanding on future service and application image, for which how to use and realize ICT environment should be recognized in all the related regions or countries, • 2nd step: to check whether or not the conventional way to estimate the required frequency bandwidth is suitable for the future IMT network, and if it is found not, to study a new way to estimate the frequency bandwidth required from the service image in 1st step, and • 3rd step : to review the future workplan and revise to the workplan, depending on the study results performed in the 1st and 2nd steps.
Proposals(2) To develop a questionnaire, which should be circulated in order to collect useful information for considerations on future IMT network The questionnaire should include at least followings: on rate of data traffic increase, as well as comparison with amount of voice traffic on relationship (or correlation) between application data volume and transmission bit rate in conjunction with characteristics of each country and area on estimated amount of data traffic and comparison of the amount of between current and future data traffic on studies on what kind of service applications and who will use them
