  4. Import Unit Cost Information • TCMUnitCostImp.xls • Field Data Type Size Notes • Company ID Text 3 This field is required.   6. Using Your Material Pricing Database • Purchase Orders • Job Entries • Inventory Entries • Accounts Receivable Invoices • Job Estimates

  7. Purchase Orders • When entering line items for your Purchase Order, the description and cost rate for the Unit Cost Item are displayed. You can use the additional description lines to specify color, model, size, etc.

  8. Job Cost Entries • You can enter a Category/Item while preparing Job Entries. The Cost and Description will be automatically displayed when you enter a valid Category/Item code. You can also prepare this information in an Excel spreadsheet and import it into TCM.

  9. Inventory Entries • The Item Number used in Inventory must match the Item Number setup in Work on Unit Cost Information. • TCM will automatically display the Item Number and Category setup in Work on Unit Cost Information.

  10. Job Estimates • Entering the Quantity and valid Item Category/Number combination will automatically extend the cost into the Estimated Dollars field.

  11. Job Income • Entering the Quantity and a valid Item Category/Number combination will automatically extend the value from the Billing Rate into the Contract Amount field.

  12. Accounts Receivable • Entering the Quantity and a valid Item Category/Number combination will automatically extend the value from the Billing Rate into the Amount field. You can use the additional Description lines to specify size, color, model, etc.

  13. SUMMARY • Creating and maintaining a Material Pricing Database inside TCM can enhance your use of the Accounts Receivable, Purchase Order, Inventory and Job Cost Modules.

  14. SUMMARY • You can use your subscription to Trade Services (TRASER) to periodically update the prices in your database to reflect changes in the marketplace.

  15. SUMMARY • You can also maintain this information in an Excel spreadsheet, and use it to add and update items in your Material Database.

  16. SUMMARY • If you deal primarily with a single supplier, your supplier may be able to generate a price list in a format suitable for updating your TCM database.
