  1. Revising Your Speech • Revise your thesis. Make sure you use the “Although” thesis format. • Make sure you have plenty examples of logical and emotional appeals. • Of your three points, which point do you think is the best one? Second best? Third? You need to rewrite your points in that order. Make sure the order you list your points in in your thesis is the same order that they appear in your speech. • Add at least two allusions that are appropriate for your audience. • Add at least two rhetorical questions. • Find a way to use repetition: either direct or parallelism. • Make sure the tone of your speech is consistent throughout. • Be sure you address your audience several times throughout your speech. • Read your speech aloud. Make sure it fits within the time limit (1 minute to one minute and 15 seconds). If its too short you will need to add more information. If its too long, look for ways to make your argument more concise.
