Application Information for Visitor Visa Extension Required Documents: A:An application form B:Passport and Visa C:One photo D:Related documents Notices: Any Foreign national who was granted 60-days Visitor’s Visa may extend their stay up to a maximum of 180-days by applying for an extension at the National Immigration Office. By 15 days before expiration. A foreigner’s duration of stay is computed from the day after he or she enters the country until his or her date of departure. All foreign nationals are strictly prohibited from getting employment of any nature without a work permit.

Application Information for Alien Resident Certificates Required documents: A: An application form B: passport and Visa C: One photo D: Related documents ex: Studying：Student identification card or certificate of enrollment (students applying for the first time may present notice of admission). Processing time: Ten (10) Working Days . Fees： One year term: NT$1,000. (Student Only) Two year term: NT$2,000. Three year term: NT$3,000. Overseas Chinese Students : NT$500.

Application Information for Change Resident Address Required documents: A: An application form B: ARC C: One photo D: The proof of address (such as a new lease agreement, or current utility bills such as water, electricity or telephone, etc.) Penalties: Foreigners who have failed to file the change of their home or work address within 15 days. The first time, fine of NT$2,000. The second time, fine of NT$5,000. The third time, fine of NT$10,000.

  18. How to renew your ARC (students) • Required documents: A: An application form B: Passport and ARC C: One photo D: Related documents: Student identification card. Certificate of Enrollment. Notice of school’s admission. Notices: • By 30 days before expiration.

  19. Notices: Foreigners holding resident visas should go to local service center of National Immigration Agency to apply for alien resident certificate within 15 days. Make sure that your ARC have re-entry permit. Except the oversee Chinese students. ARC holders are required to report any changes in their status or place of domicile to the National Immigration Office within 15 days after any change was effected. If you lost or damage your ARC, you need apply for a new one and the fee is NT$500.

Notices: • If you don’t have the enrollment certificate or receipt for 2012 fall semester for ARC extension or the first time application, NIA will only issue(extend) ARC to Sep. 30th. • Before the expiration date of ARC, please prepare your enrollment certificate of or receipt to extend ARC again. Then we will extend the valid period for one year. The valid period is calculated from the last extension date to next year.

  28. Application Information for Lost Passport Declaration • Required documents: A: An application form B: Personal identification document C: Two photos • Notices: Foreigners who have lost their passports should report to NIA in person.

  30. Application Information for Overstay Exit Required documents: A: Passport or travel documents B: Booked airplane/boat ticket for departure within 7 days. Penalties: • Overstay of 1 – 10 days, fine of NT$2,000. • Overstay of 11 – 30 days, fine of NT$4,000. • Overstay of 31 – 60 days, fine of NT$6,000. • Overstay of 61 – 90 days, fine of NT$8,000. • Overstay of 91 or more days, fine of NT$10,000. • Minors under 18 years of age are fined half of the penalty

Application Information for Overstay Exit • Notices: • You must complete the process personally. • If you overstay less than 90 days, you can go to the NIA's service center or take the completed documents to the NIA's Border Affairs Brigades at the airports/harbors for exit processing. • Foreigners who overstay their visas may be prohibited from reentry. • If you overstay less than 30 days and you are still a student, you can take the studying certificate to NIA's service center . After paying the fine, you can renew ARC without exit.
