Keeping Your Options Open • Conduct a college search at http://www.collegeboard.com and come back with a list of schools that meet your requirements. • Price is not a consideration at this point—ultimately, your cost will a determining factor in your decision. • Complete an Activities Sheet. Go to www.QRSD.org, select High School, Go to Guidance – College Resources • Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov to be prepared to apply for financial aid • Athletes who plan to play division 1 or division 2, you must register with the NCAA clearinghouse at www.eligibilitycenter.org • College Entrance Exams: SAT, SAT Subject Tests, ACT http://www.collegeboard.com http://www.actstudent.org/

SelectingPhase Levels • Unphased: Not part of the college prep curriculum • Phase 3: College Prep Courses • Phase 4: College Prep 2 Courses • Phase 5: Honors and AP Courses • AP Courses require that you take the AP Exam • Only Levels 3, 4 & 5 are counted in your GPA
Things To Remember • Choose Wisely! • Strongly encouraged to take at least two or more semesters of the same World Language. Important to begin researching college admissions requirements regarding World Languages. • Must choose 2 alternate courses per elective • Colleges expect that you will challenge yourself.
Things To Remember More competitive 4-year colleges may require 3-4 years of world language and may only consider Biology, Chemistry and Physics as lab sciences. If you are interested in a nursing career, take chemistry!
Promotion Requirements Quabbin students must earn: • 140.0 credits to graduate • Senior year you must carry 8 courses and earn 35.0 out of 40.0 credits
