The Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) is a licensing program that provides a hosting offer to service providers such as “KPMG accredited Octopus Manager” to lease or rent licenses of Microsoft products on a monthly basis, and also to give hosting services and applications to the end customers. Some main concepts of SPLA licensing The first step is to understand the SPLA licensing which is in some parts are quite different the traditional licensing. One main factor to this is that there are no acquired license entitlements to take into consideration. Moreover, the reporting is based on the actual usage for a given calendar month and is done after the reporting month is concluded. So, in short, you can say that you are starting all over every month.
