  3. Hiring Manager Defined • A Hiring Manager is an individual who is responsible for hiring employees to fill vacant positions within a facility

  4. Personnel Request Form • Must be filled out completely and correctly • Provide the name of which employee has been terminated, is leaving, or quit when sending the request • This information can be sent in an e-mail or written on the top of the Personnel Request Form • Easy step by step instructions are provided • Send all Personnel Request Forms to nicole.wood@pathfinderinc.org

  8. Job Description • Must be up to date • Job Description should be an accurate reflection of the necessary requirements • Correct Job Description must be attached to the Personnel Request Form • If a Job Description needs to be updated, send all changes to nicole.wood@pathfinderinc.org

  10. Newspaper Advertising • Keep wording short and to the point • Extra wording will be cut out if needed • Newspaper Deadlines:

  11. Newspaper Advertising Example • If advertising a job position in the Newspaper: • Ad must be attached with the Personnel Request Form • Send all Newspaper Ads to nicole.wood@pathfinderinc.org

  12. Online Advertising • There is free advertising online that is more detailed, to include posting at the following sites: • Bing • Google.com • Indeed.com • Jobster • JuJu.com • LinkedIn • Linkup • SimplyHired.com

  13. Online Advertising Example • SimplyHired.com • Click on the Therapist (10-17) link • Will be redirected to the Pathfinder, Inc. Website

  14. Job Positions • Once the Personnel Request Form is verified and approved, Job Position is then opened and posted online

Applications • Applicants will go online to fill out an application for the desired job position • If an applicant does not have access or can not use a computer, paper applications are available for the applicant to fill out • Incomplete applications will not be considered • Review paper applications to make sure all required items are filled out

  17. Applications • All required items are indicated on both the online application and the paper application • Send all paper applications to nicole.wood@pathfinderinc.orgimmediately and by the Job Posting close out date Paper Application Online Application

Applications • After the Job Position has closed out, all applicant applications are reviewed and screened to determine which applicants qualify for the position • Qualifications are based on (not a complete list): • Job Description requirements • Required Licenses and Certificates • Required Education and Training • Experience with developmentally disabled

  19. Applications • Qualified applicants’ applications are sent to the Hiring Manager • Notes are listed at the end of each application sent, please remember to review the notes for important information and requirements

  20. Hiring Applicants • Hiring Manager reviews each application received • References are checked out • Applicants are then interviewed either over the phone or in person • An applicant is chosen to be hired

  21. Applicant Status Update • Applicant Status Update sheet is then completed • Must be returned by given Due Date • If an extension is needed, contact Nicole Wood at extension 1232 • Send all Applicant Status Update sheets to nicole.wood@pathfinderinc.org

  23. New Hire Process • Hiring Manager completes in the order listed for each new hire: • 1. Complete a Background Check on applicant • A. ICF MR employees use: Form DMS 736, OLTC Direct Care Facilities • B. Preschool employees use: AR#920100Z, FBI, Child Maltreatment Check • C. All other employees use: Form DDS 5088, Criminal Record Check

  24. New Hire Process • 2. Complete a Drug Screen if applicant has passed Background Check • A. Local employees will make an appointment with Tanya Edwards in Human resources (call extension 1220 to schedule) • B. Out lying employees will drug test at designated facility

  25. New Hire Process • 3. Send the following to Carrie Womble in Human Resources: • A. Change of Status Form • B. Completed Application • C. Job Description • D. Any and all other required paperwork • Reminder: unless packet is hand delivered, please send the packet through inter office mail

  26. New Hire Process • 4. New Hire Appointment with Carrie Womble in Human resources (call extension 1214 to schedule) • Employee must bring the following: • A. Driver’s License • B. Social Security Card • C. Education/Certificates/Verification of Credentials

  27. New Hire Process • 5. Applicant is now an employee of Pathfinder, Inc. and can start working

  28. New Hire Process • Important item to remember: • A. I-9 must be turned in to Tanya Edwards in Human Resources by day 3 of the employee’s new hire date • Example:
