Bioversity International, IITA • Inception workshop planned for 23 – 25 April 2012 to develop work plans, budget allocation, roles and responsibilities of partners. ANAFE, RUFORUM & FARA led Tertiary Agricultural Education Mechanism: TEAM Africa • Articulating a shared strategic vision for TAE capacity building in Africa; • Providing information for priority setting in investments in TAE; • Providing guidance on best approaches to investment in TAE; • Integrating TAE into CAADP Investment Plans; and; • Supporting harmonization of donor support to TAE. Strengths and Challenges • Sustained and long term support from Sida • Competitive: Managing a very large variation among membership (policy; institutional setting; language; resources) • Relevant: Managing a tough and evolving agenda- • Effective: Network membership being held at institutional level • Efficiency: Securing a sustainable funding resource base • Long-term: Managing national leadership turnover, particularly at institutional level.
