  2. What is UDL? • Universal Design Learning • Students are given voice and choice • Students work self at their own pace

  3. 3 Components to The Review • Portfolio – Student scored • Mastery – Teacher scored • Multiple Choice – Teacher scored with corrections

  4. Portfolio • Students are required to earn a minimum number of point in each category • Displaying Data • Experiements/Sampling • Inference • Linear Regression • Probability • #6s

  5. How it Works? • Problems are provided to students in each topic and they can choose what they want to do. • Once completed, students self score the questions using red pens and answers that have been provided and pointed for them • Students keep track of their points in each category until they reach a minimum number of points.

  6. Mastery • Once a student earns the minimum number of points in a category, students complete a question for mastery that is graded by the teacher. If the student does not get a 4/4 then they must complete additional questions that are teacher graded. • 2 or 3 out of 4 – 1 extra questions • 0 or 1 out of 4 – 2 extra questions • This is then recorded in the grade book.

  7. Multiple Choice • Multiple Choice was mixed up by topic and difficulty level in groups of 5. • Given as a warm-up in class each day and teacher scored. • One point was given for each correct answer • In order to earn back ½ of the points missed, students needed to write a 2 sentence response about why their answer was wrong and the correct answer was right.

  8. Positives • Students work at their own pace • Students get more practice where they need it • Focus attention on struggling students • Really bright students are not bored. • Seniors actually do work!
