  6. The Evolution of Evolutionism • Pre 1920s: Creationism was the only theory taught in school. In the USA, John T. Scopes challenges this law by teaching evolution in his science class. • Famous Trial (Scopes Trial) • Evolution is brought to public view • Today: Creationism is illegal to teach as the sole theory of the development of the human race. Teachers have been reprimanded for not teaching Evolution.
