Biography Debuted without formal art training and education. She began in Murakami’s factory without formal training, but in 2006, she had a residency at Art Pace, San Antonio, Texas. Aoshima’s work transcends traditional techniques of representation. She uses computer software to create her beautiful and erotic worlds of ghosts, demons, schoolgirls, and exquisite natural landscapes. Audacious prints large scale images on various mediums: wood, plastic, canvas bags, wallpaper installations and etc. “My work feels like strands of my thoughts that have flown around the universe before coming back to materialize.” - ChihoAoshima. City Glow Deriving from traditional and pop sources such as Japanese scroll paintings, manga, and anime, City Glow contains a cyclical narrative, which begins with the dawn of a paradisaical garden.
