Installation – Getting the System READY • Secure leadership support • Develop a communication plan, message and materials • Build an Implementation Team • Determine system supports • Build training and TA capacity • Develop an Implementation Plan The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Secure Leadership Support • Meet with State Leadership Team to determine who can provide leadership support • Develop the message • Develop a plan to involve leadership The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Develop a Communication Plan, Message and Materials • Determine audiences • Determine methods for communication • Develop a schedule for communication • Review state approaches • Review feedback and identify areas of resistance • Review communications before they go out The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Select Demonstration Site(s) and Build Implementation Team(s) • Select “early adopter sites with strong commitment and interest • Select members of the implementation team • Select leaders who will be liaisons • Schedule regular meetings • Establish clear roles and responsibilities • Determine and develop resources and skills needed by the implementation team The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Determine System Supports Identify and make changes in: • administrative structures • teaming • training and technical assistance structures • funding structures The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Build Training and TA Capacity • Complete needs assessment • Review examples from other states and develop training and TA materials • Ensure adequate personnel resources in training and TA • Create evaluation for the training and TA to measure effectiveness The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
Develop an Implementation Plan • Develop a schedule of events and responsibility for installation and initial implementation • Create feedback loops – mechanisms for quick feedback and problem solving. • Plan and develop data collection, analysis, and reporting processes for fidelity and results • Schedule time to review feedback and make changes The Early Childhood Outcomes Center
