What is the Design Assistance Program NRMCA in conjunction with Ohio Concrete will provide Design Suggestions that will include enough guidance to the project designer, contractor, or owner to allow them to design, specify, and/or build an economical and well designed project.
Who can submit a project for Design Services? NRMCA State Affiliates and regional or national partner organizations are the only groups that can submit projects Projects may be identified by State Affiliate members, design firms, contractors, etc. The request for Design Services must come directly from an NRMCA State Affiliate
What will be included in the Design Suggestions provided? • Scale CAD drawing with jointing plan • Design details • Alternatives for pervious pavement sections (when applicable) • Disclaimer stating that the Design Suggestions are not every known fact about concrete pavement but complies with current industry standards. The final design is the responsibility of the engineer of record for the project.

How fast will I receive Design Suggestions (Internal estimate)? Projects of less than 100,000 square feet are usually returned to the State Affiliate within 5 business days. For larger projects, odd shaped pavements, or projects requiring hydrological illustrations may take up to 10 business days. For the end user it is suggested we add a few days to ensure we under promise and over deliver) For rush situations call Ohio Concrete
How much will the service cost? NMRCA State Affiliates will be expected to share some of the cost for the design service which could be several hundred dollars per project. Each affiliate should determine their process for quoting to end users and how they will manage their costs (likely to vary by afiliate)
How do I submit a project for Design Services? A project is submitted by completing the application form and providing all the necessary information and files requested in the submittal checklist.
What feedback will I be expected to provide? NRMCA State Affiliates will be expected to provide feedback about the process. This includes reporting of the final outcome to Ohio Concrete and the appropriate NRMCA National Resource Director. If Projects are related to national accounts the NRMCA National Resource Director may be involved in the closing process based on many variables.
Areas under consideration for upgrading… Specifications Process Communications Ways to improve feedback form. Increased marketing of the service (to occur)
Actions to be taken in the short term… NRMCA to send a note to state affiliates and RPGs to align expectations and educate on the process
