Mercutio and Benvolio quickly run into Romeo on the street. They exchange puns and jokes, and Mercutio and Benvolio still think Romeo is in love with Rosaline.
Juliet’s Nurse and a servant named Peter find Romeo out on the street. • Romeo tells Nurse to tell Juliet to come to confession at Friar Lawrence’s cell. Friar Lawrence will marry them there. • The Nurse leaves to deliver the message to Juliet.
