  2. Brief Biology • Amphibians are metamorphic. • Amphibians rely on water to reproduce. • Amphibians are cold-blooded • They breathe through their skin when the lack lungs

  3. Chemical Pollution • Amphibians absorb oxygen through their skin. • Their skin is permeable. • They are very sensitive to contaminants. • Most reactions to chemicals are obvious.

  4. Air Pollution • Being ectothermic, temperature changes can be detrimental. • UV Radiation may slow the development and increase the mortality rate of amphibian eggs.
