Egyptian Gods/Goddesses By: Kaylee • The ancient world was ruled by pharos. • The gods and goddesses ruled the Egyptian s with an iron fist. • When the gods weren’t busy reigning they were engaged in love affairs and murder.
Pharaoh/Great Royal Wife • The arrangement could allow Pharaoh to enter the diplomatic marriages with the daughters of allies. • The throne was likely to be passed on to the oldest son of Pharaoh. • Pharaoh would have other lesser wives, but the Great Royal Wife was the most important.
Egyptian Warfare • Egyptians sometimes invaded other neighborhoods. • Had bronze tip on the end of the spear. • Shields made out of wood and ox-hide. • They had no armor. • Egyptians sometimes fought off invasions from the Libyans or Nubians.
The Nile River • The length of the Nile river is 6,650 km (4132 miles) • The Nile river is believed to be the longest river in the world • Located in Africa
Pyramids and Mummies • There are 138 pyramids in Egypt. Pyramids of Kufu is found at giza it’s the most largest. The most popular one is at gaiza on the out skink of cairo.lots of pyramids have lots of names. Mummies are carried into there tomes and put to rest bodies that are well preserved for thousands of years.
Egyptian Education There was not much schools, most of the moms and dads taught them. The rich people went to school. Egyptian’s writing used more than 2,000 pictures Papyrus is a thick paper like material made from the pith of papyrus plant. It was used for paper, boats, mattresses, mats, ropes, sandals, and baskets.
Egyptian houses and furniture • Poor people used bricks to build their houses. After a few years the bricks of the house would crumble. • Rich people used stone to build their houses. • All Egyptian houses had flat roofs. • Most houses had about 3 rooms. • Egyptian furniture was highly prized. • Bed frames were in common use. • The wooden box was introduced.
Egyptian Food, Markets, and Eating Customs *Food: Dried fish and poultry are most popular in Egypt. They also eat lots of peas, beans, grapes, dates, bread, and drank a lot of beer and wine. *Markets: Egyptians set up tents and barter (trade) by the Nile river. *Eating Customs: Egyptians never over eat. They rarely eat meat because it’s very expensive.
Clothes • All men wore a wrap-round skirt at the waist with a belt. • All woman wore a straight dress with one or two straps. During the new kingdom the woman wore pleated or draped dresses and the men wore a pleated garment. During the old kingdom for the men their skirts were short and for the woman their dresses were all the way down to their ankles. During the middle kingdom men wore calf length wrap-round skirts and the woman’s fashion was the same as old kingdom.
Jewelry and makeup • Egyptians wore many different kinds and styles of jewelry • Jewelry was made out of gems and materials like: sunstone, emeralds, glaze, glass and semi-precious stones • They wore jewelry everyday, it made them look attractive to their people • Makeup made their skin smooth • They made their own makeup like eye makeup, perfume oils, nail polish and more • They made most makeup with a plant called henna, henna also made colors
Farmingpharaoh got the rich peasants to do the farm work on the rich lands. The peasants worked as either reapers or gleaner. The reapers went though the fields first and they did work such as plowing the field to loosen the dirt for the seeds to go in or they would winnow.
Brickmaking By: Taliyah • Thousands, of workers, soldiers and scribes had to be fed and housed. • Most of the ancient Egyptian buildings have disappeared leaving no trace, but of sun baked made of Nile mud and straw houses or palaces.

Egyptian Weather and Famine • Weather: Summer- hot, dry, humid, sun protection important. Winter- mild with some rain but mostly sunny days with cold nights. Average Annual Temp. Range - Desert; 32°- 0° C., 32 F. - 46° C., 114° F. Other- 14 C., 57 F.-37 C., 99 F. • Famine: No grain, vegetables, or garden produce to be found from 1708 BC- to 1701 BC during the reign of king Tcheser.

Egyptian Crafts/Craftsmen • They use wood or stone and painted it • Some with ledges or stops to prevent their work slipping • The fifth craftsmen is about to paint a djed-amulet [denoting strength] in his hand • In the center men place completed amulets in framework of the shine, These appear smaller then the amulets in the process of manufacture, but thus us because the latter have been enlarged by the artist so that they can be more clearly seen • The main tool is the adza used by Egyptians for cutting, shaping and smoothing wood
Egypt laws and Governors By: MaxEgypt governors were involved in viziers, army commanders, chief treasures and tax collecters.many governors were involved in thinking of a punishment for each crime that somebody did.
Shepherds status • Egyptians considered sheep worthless for food and sacrifice and the Egyptians hated the shepherds.
Dreams The people who dreamt up dreams are Jacob, cupbearers, bakers, and Pharaoh. The people used the messages in their dreams to cure ill people. Almost everyone believed that the gods would send the dreams to help people with their problems. If you wanted to dream there would be dream temples to dream in.
