Highlight of anthropometry in Taiwan • Data (stature and body weight only) can be traced back to 1972. • Most data were used as references for government policy making. • Anthropometry surveys started in 1980s. • NTHU team initiated and carried out a survey (1200 subjects, 95 static items) using computer aided photographic method from 1985 to 1986. • NTHU team initiated and carried out a large scale survey from 1994 to 2001.

  6. The development of Taiwanese Anthtropometric Databank • Financially sponsored by National Science Council and National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. • 265 static items and 42 ranges of motion. • 9965 civilians, workers, students, army personnel. • 6 to 64 years of age.
