MISSION STATEMENT Quad V.E.T.S. is a program designed to help homeless, incarcerated, and unemployed veterans become successful, self-sufficient, law-abiding citizens upon completion of the program. .
Quad V.E.T.S. Goals To house veterans in a facility that is close to our home office so that we can manage their facilitation into our communities. 1. To utilize our programs that are in place and give each veteran an opportunity to qualify for job openings in today’s challenging employment market. 2. To assist in each veteran’s re-entry into today’s society by providing housing, transportation, job placement, and financial counseling to better insure a successful new beginning and hope for his/her future. 3.
Historical Background • “If any man shallbee sent forth as a souldier and shall return maimed hee shallbee maintained competently by the Collonie during his life.” • With that statement, the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony enacted into law first veterans’ benefit recorded in America. The year was 1636 and the Colony was engaged in a conflict with the Pequot Indians. History shows that first declaration of concern, the American people have continued and strengthened their efforts to compensate for the losses and to minimize the disadvantages suffered by those who have responded to the Nation’s call to serve.

In 1776, the United States of America recognized the need to provide for those who had risked their lives for the cause of freedom. Since then, there have been changes in many different aspects of our country, but the urgency to provide benefits to veterans has stayed the same.

“Success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom.” General George Patton What’s wrong with this picture? Who are homeless veterans? The vast majority are single, most come from poor, disadvantaged communities, 45% suffer from mental illness, and half have substance abuse problems. 57% of homeless veterans served during Vietnam. How many homeless veterans are there? Although accurate numbers are impossible to come by…according to the VA, more than half a million are homeless in course of one year. That is one out of every four homeless men who are sleeping in an alley, box, or door way has put on a uniform and served our country. Why are veterans homeless? There has been extreme shortage of affordable housing, livable income, and access to health care. A large number of displaced and at-risk veterans live in lingering effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, substance abuse, compounded by lack of a family support network.
