  3. Forhigh-chlorideenvironment(nearthesee),against riskofcorrosion,theinternationalAssociationsforQuality ofpowdercoating,recommendselectrochemicalpre- anodisingofaluminumsurfacepriortocoating. Thelayerofaluminumoxide(thicknessof3÷8microns, poroussurface,notsealed)representstheideal substrateforpowderadhesionandaluminumsurface corrosion resistance. InnovationintroducedbySATconsistsinperformingthe pre-anodisingprocessasafullyautomatic“in-line”process integratedalongaverticalcoatingline,withnoneedof transfer-handlingandnodelaybetweenpre-anodising andcoating.

Thiscombinedanodising&coatingverticalplant resultsinbothhigherqualityofthefinalproduct (automaticseasideendorsement)andverycompetitive productioncost,definitelycomparablewithstandard pre-treatmentprocesscarriedoutwithconventional surfaceconversion(chromeorchrome-free). Furtheradvantageisthatthetreatmentofaluminum surfacepriortoanodisingcanbelimitedtothe eliminationofimpuritiesthatcouldaffectthe anodisingprocess;thisaimcanbecarriedoutwitha very simpledegreasing/cleaningtreatment with positiveeffectonthecostsofthewastewaters treatmentandontheenvironmentalimpact.
