Character First COMPASSION
Character is the inward motivation to do what is right in every situation even when no one is looking.
COMPASSION Investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others.
COMPASSION Compassion is helping others heal their hurts whether physical or emotional.
Compassion Is relieving someone’s pain. Compassion doesn’t just see people’s needs; Compassion does something about it.
Compassion Compassion is like a doctor’s care. It invests in the healing process, but it cannot actually heal.
I Will: Stop to Help: Compassion is not just seeing a need, it is willing to be inconvenienced and change plans for the good of someone else.
I Will: Listen When Others Want to Talk: Compassionate people listen, they do not look at their watches or fidget, when someone is sharing their need with them.
I Will: Give of My Resources to Help Those in Need: Compassion actually invests personal resources toward meeting others’ needs.
I Will: Look for Lasting Solutions: Compassion looks to stop a problem at its source.
I Will: Comfort Others Without Regard to Race, Gender, Faith, Age, or Nationality: Compassion doesn’t allow prejudice to stand in the way of helping others.
Five Keys to Compassion: Stop to Help: Do not assume “someone else” will stop to help. Listen Carefully: Listening says, “Your need is important, and I’m here to help you.” Clarify Your Response: Look for lasting solutions instead of quick fixes. Get Involved: Get personally involved instead of expecting others to do the job. Heal Hurts: Care for others as long as necessary in order to fully address the need.
Compassion A good heart is better than all the heads in the world. Edward Bulwer-Lytton
Compassion Without a rich heart, wealth is an ugly beggar. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Compassion The more you care, the stronger you can be. Jim Rohn
Compassion Ask yourself: When have I stopped to help someone? How can I be a better listener? How does listening help others?
