  3. Florida Motorists Survey 2010 • Safety Campaigns • 79.4% reported seeing “Click it or Ticket” • 34.4% reported seeing “Think! Look Twice for Motorcycles” • 16% reported seeing “Enjoy the Ride Safe and Sober” • 7.7% reported seeing “None for the Road”

Florida Motorists Survey 2010 • Potentially distracting activities • 29.1% reported using a cellular phone while driving • 33.4% in hotspot areas • 23% reported sending a text message while driving • 30.9% read a text message • 73.7% and 78.9% of 18 to 24 year olds reporting sending and reading text messages, respectively • 15.8% reported eating while driving

Florida Motorists Survey 2010 • Characteristics of speeders • Respondents that reported being involved in a crash were more likely to report driving at unlawful speeds • Nearly 8 in 10 of all drivers interviewed under age 65 reported driving at unlawful speeds • 68% of drivers 65+ • Education Level • 88.1% of respondents with a post graduate degree reported driving at unlawful speeds, compared with 46.9% of respondents that did not finish high school

Look Twice for Motorcycles” • Fewer than 25% reported seeing “Ride Legal, Ride Smart” and “None for the Road”

Motorcyclists Survey 2010 • Rider Facts • 7 out of 10 respondents report owning a motorcycle for more than 7 years • Analysis shows the longer a rider has owned a motorcycle, the more likely he or she is to report speeding • 12.6% of respondents report driving a motorcycle within 2 hours of drinking alcohol in the past 30 days • Men reported driving after drinking more frequently than women (16.1% and 6.1% respectively)

Motorcycle Training Evaluation Survey 2010 • Rider Facts • Nearly three-quarters of respondents ride at least once per week • 44.8% of motorcyclists involved in a crash reported driving 111 mph or more • The majority of respondents reported that the course taught them “a lot” about each subject • The exception was the subject regarding riding safely riding with passengers on in a group

Motorcycle Training Evaluation Survey Longitudinal Analysis • Florida motorcycle riders appear to continue to hold the Florida Basic Rider Course in high esteem • There was an almost two-fold increase in the percentage of riders who reported in 2008 always riding within the speed limit and those who reported in 2009 and 2010 always riding within the speed limit
