  2. Hi!, my name is John Glenn. I was born on the 18th of July, 1921 in Cambridge, Ohio. I lived in Ohio State. • On February 20 1962 I flew to outer space and orbited the earth 3 times. I , John Herschel Glenn, was the oldest human to go into space and I broke the record for being in space for the longest period of time.

  3. I spent 4 hours and 56 minutes in outer space, reaching speeds of more than 17,000 miles per hour. I landed in the Atlantic Ocean 800 miles southeast of Bermuda.

  4. I Instantly became a hero! President John Kennedy awarded me the Congressional medal of honor.

  5. After three years of training, I rocketed into space using the Mercury Capsule spaceship and the first to orbit the earth. • I, John Glenn, haven’t died. Although I’m old I am still alive!.
