  2. Background Goals – To recognise good teaching and raise teaching standards across the FCA Idea – To develop a One-Stop teaching and learning resource for our commerce teachers Accessible Collection – Strategies, ideas and insights from our people

  3. What we did Interviews conducted with teachers from FCA between July and November, 2010. Focus – on teaching context, goals, process, strategies, challenges, outcomes, and big lessons.

Successful teaching and learning – Key Themes Successful teaching is a matter of attitude and energy rather than a specific teaching style – FCA teacher http://www.victoria.ac.nz/fca/teaching/successful-teaching-learning.aspx • Teachers bring different personalities that lead to individual teaching styles • A positive attitude towards teaching and class interaction is a must • Successful teaching requires a level of physicality and involvement • Successful teaching requires a high level of organisation and preparation • Students need relevant, 'real world' learning
