Arriving at the Regional Structure Local Council Meetings North Etobicoke May 29, 2012 Central South Etobicoke May 30, 2012 Black Creek June 01, 2012 York South - Weston June 07, 2012 • Purpose of the Meetings: • To inform the local council members about the new • LIP structure • To collect and integrate feedback on processes for and details of the new structure

Toronto West LIP Council Five members (including one newcomer) from each topic group were selected to form the Council Labour Market Civic Engagement Education & Language Health Service Development & Coordination YasminHaq-Khan Toronto West LIP Structure YasmeenTian Renee Devereaux Jill Shakespeare Elizabeth Bethune

Approx. 80 attendees • Topic Groups met for the first time • Local work of each of the 4 former LIPs pertaining to the respective topic groups was summarized and shared • Regional council members were selected considering the following criteria: • Balance of large and small organizations • Representation from ethno-specific organizations • Newcomer representation • Balance of representation from 4 neighbourhoods • Diversity within and across sectors • Representation from organizations serving youth and seniors TWLIP Launch - June 27th, 2012

  7. 3 of the 4 former LIPS have decided to continue to meet as local councils (Black Creek, North Etobicoke and York-South Weston) • Topic groups will decide which local initiatives are feasible for uptake at a regional level • Next topic group meetings are scheduled in the next couple of months Moving Forward
