Was ist eine Netzwerkkarte? • Eine Netzwerkkarte (Network Interface Card) ist eine elektronische Schaltung zur Verbindung eines Computers mit einem lokalen Netzwerkes zum Austausch von Daten. • Die Netzwerkkarte besitzt meist zwei Kontrollleuchtdioden: Die grüne LED entspricht der Stromversorgung der Karte Die orangene und die rote LED gibt die Netzaktivität an

  3. MAC- Adresse • Jede Netzwerkkarte hat eine Hardware-Adresse, die sogenannte MAC -Adresse (Media Access Control - Adresse), die es auf der Welt nur einmal gibt. Anhand dieser Adresse, lässt sich eine Station auf der Bitübertragungsschicht identifizieren.

  4. Netzwerktypen Das LAN (Local Area Network). ist ein lokales Netzwerk Als WAN (Wide Area Network) wird ein sehr großes Netzwerk bezeichnet. Die Abkürzung MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) ist ein Zwischenbegriff zwischen LAN und WAN und wird kaum mehr genutzt.

  5. Welche Arten von Netzwerkkarten gibt es? Netzwerkanschluss auf der Hauptplatine Fast jeder Computer hat ein oder zwei eingebaute Netzwerkkarten auf der Hauptplatine. PCI-Netzwerkkarte Die PCI- Netzwerkkarte, auch PCI- Netzwerk Adapter genannt, braucht man, wenn man keinen Netzwerk -anschluss auf der Hauptplatine integriert hat.

PCMCIA-Netzwerkkarte Einen PCMCIA-Netzwerkkarte benötigst man, wenn in deinem Notebook kein Netzwerkadapterintegriert ist. • USB Netzwerkkarte für Computer und Notebook • Wenn man den Computer nicht öffnen möchte um eine PCI- oder PCMCIA- Netzwerkkarte einzubauen und man auch keine nutzen möchte, dann gibt es auch noch USB -Netzwerkkarten, die man einfach an einen USB-Anschluss anstecken kann.

  7. Wie installiere ich eine Netzwerkkarte? Zur Kommunikation mit dem Kabelmodem muss eine Netzwerkkarte im Computer installiert sein. Falls man die Netzwerkkarte austauscht oder eine neue Windows-Version betreibt, muss man die Konfiguration prüfen. • Die Installation einer Netzwerkkarte umfasst zwei Schritte: 1. Installation der Hardware 2. Installation des Treibers

  8. Aufbau einer Netzwerkkarte • Die NE 2000 Netzwerkkarte besteht aus einer Platine, die für den jeweiligen PC Bus passen muss. Sämtliche Einstellungen müssen hier manuell vorgenommen werden, diese Karte ist demnach über die Hardware zu konfigurieren. Weiterhin befinden sich mindestens ein oder mehrere Stecker auf der Karte um das Kabel an die Karte anzuschließen. Außerdem befindet sich ein sogenannter Boot ROM auf dieser Karte. Mit einem Boot ROM kann ein PC beim starten seine Startdateien über das Netzwerk laden und sich so beispielsweise eine eigene Festplatte einsparen.
