Energy Leaders One on each team/dept (by area/shift) Tactical deployment of energy efficiency initiatives Educate local team on EE and sustainability Lead low/no cost local projects (i.e. “power down” concept) Knowledge Base Energy Champion Training, BU Energy Leader, Finance, Manufacturing, Local Energy Provider, Best Practices, Tools Interface between Cummins GHG Strategy Operations and Facilities

What is an Energy Champion? • Selected by the site’s business leader (e.g. plant manager) • One Energy Champion per site • Large sites may have EC deputies • Leads site energy management • Drives site energy culture change • Helps develop ideas and evangelizes them to facilities and capital improvement groups

  4. Energy Champion Role Profile Key Attributes: • Principal responsibility for site infrastructure and/or operational capability • Financial responsibilities related to energy; holds energy related KPIs for site • Position of influence; preferably is on Plant Manager's staff • Facility & operations knowledge (technical degree and/or experience) • Effective team leadership skills • Completes Cummins Energy Champion training, Cummins Six Sigma training, and Cummins Operating System training

Energy Champion Role Profile Key Responsibilities: • Leads energy efficiency at the site • Member of site’s cross-functional “Green Team” • Supports HSE leader with EMS and EnMS implementation and ongoing activities • Sponsors / leads energy improvements (capital projects, energy kaizen work, energy treasure hunts, etc.) • Establishes, leads and mentors site Energy Leader team; delivers training and advises on improvement activities • Participates in CMI Energy Champion Network

Role of the site “Green Team” • Provide system-wide input from all site operations • Identify significant energy users, objectives & targets • Key members: • Energy Champion • Environmental Leader • Facilities Leader • Operations Leader(s) • Manufacturing Engineering • Test Operations / Lab Operations • Quality, Purchasing & Finance • Office / Warehouse

What is an Energy Leader? • Selected/Chartered by the site’s Business Leader (e.g. Plant Manager) • Similar to “star point” team leader • One from each key team or area • Energy Leader role: • Participates on site Energy Leader Team • Tactical deployment of energy efficiency initiatives • Educate local team on EE and sustainability • Lead low/no cost local projects and “power down” concept
