Some facts : The rhythm of people and the rhythm of the city have evolved • In France : • 80 % of women work, • 50 % of employees work 35 h / week • we have more free time but we work with different time schedules, • 25 % of workers work on Sunday • 48 % work on Saturday ECOMM 2008 Lucie Verchere-Tortel, Mail lverchere-tortel@grandlyon.org

When are peak hours ? • Travel times are changing ! • 35 % employees begin at 7.30 AM / 9 AM and finish at 4 PM / 6.30 PM • 37 %start or finish outside these hours • 20%finish after 7 PM  Rhythms change according to the day of the week :60 % of employees don’t have the same working hours every days ECOMM 2008 Lucie Verchere-Tortel, Mail lverchere-tortel@grandlyon.org

  13. What we have learnt : • Important needs from companies on the question of the mobility of employees, • An innovative approach : with the question of rhythms, • A project methodology which can be easily duplicated in multiple areas

  14. What we have done : • The establishment of a dialogue between partners : public and private, • The facilitation of meetings to bring awareness of the project to companies involved • The follow-up of the project by Greater Lyon

  15. Innovations : • The creation of news jobs : mobility information officers, • The organization of car-pooling in the Greater Lyon area for employees companies

  16. Long term vision : • A mobility office in the area of Greater Lyon, • news jobs which ink both economy and sustainable environment
