The Internet2 - HP+SHI PartnershipMeeting our Infrastructure Needs • Provide “community cloud” services, i.e. infrastructure and platform services, tailored to specific use cases of the higher ed community. • Status: • Signed Memorandum of Understanding with HP • Four university teams implementing HPC, administrative applications, infrastructure examples during a four+ month proof-of-concept; first use in this month • Business discussions proceeding in parallel; issues re contract terms, provisioning and billing, and service levels vs. price • Target service to be available in Q2 2012.

The Internet2 - Box.net PartnershipAddressing the Collaboration Challenge • Enable users to securely store and share content via multiple devices and applications • Status: • Box/Internet2 agreement signed; Internet2/school agreement being negotiated • Early adopters using Box to test and validate the offering • Easy to use administrative portal being developed. • Services will be made available to other schools when these are complete in early 2012 (over 60 inquiries already).
