OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT Workplace Health and Safety • Implement normal barrier controls for employees who are more likely to come into contact with infected people • Usual personal leave arrangements apply • If employment is the “real or direct” cause then a workers’ compensation claim may be made • Decision on liability is made by the insurer • Managers are to make no admission of liability H1N1 Influenza 09
