  4. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) • The Dept. of Education compiles student and family information used to calculate the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) • File the FAFSA on the Web at www.fafsa.gov • UNM’s priority filing date is March 1st
